Heart postpones 2024 ‘Royal Flush Tour’ after Ann Wilson’s cancer diagnosis

Heart (Ann WIlson singing; Nancy Wilson on guitar) performs live at Van Andel Arena. MICHIGAN^ USA - July 12^ 2019

Heart announced it has postponed its 2024 Royal Flush Tour after Ann Wilson was recently diagnosed with cancer. The band’s team is working on rescheduling the dates in 2025, with more details to follow.

Wilson, who said she will be undergoing “preventative chemotherapy,” posted on social media: “I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous. The operation was successful & I’m feel great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it. And so my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover. To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025. My team is getting those details sorted & we’ll let you know the plan as soon as we can.  Thank you for all the support. This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing.”

Wilson, 74, ended her post with: “Respectfully, this is the last public statement I’d like to make on the matter.”

Wilson’s cancer announcement comes weeks after she and her sister Nancy, 70, announced the cancellation of a string of June and July concerts in Europe (which had bee scheduled from June 20th through July 12th, featuring Squeeze) while Wilson underwent a medical procedure. At the time, the band cited that the singer had to have “a time-sensitive but routine procedure for which the minimum recovery time is six weeks.”  Cheap Trick was set to support the dates with Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening and Bachman Turner Overdrive featuring Randy Bachman playing select stops.
