DJ Khaled removes trailer to announce new album ‘Aalam of God’

DJ Khaled arrives for the 2021 BET Awards on June 27^ 2021 in Los Angeles^ CA

After DJ Khaled had announced his fourteenth album “Aalam of God” was slated for release in 2025 (alongside a seven-minute movie album trailer co-starring Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Ramos), he quickly removed the trailer after comments made by none other than Drake.  In the social post announcing the album, Khaled boasted about his two collaborations with Drake, writing: ”  To which Drizzy replied: “Must be @drakebell.”

Khaled has been promoting his Drake collabs since he first announced them at Drake’s “It’s All A Blur Tour” stop at the Kaseya Center in Downtown Miami in 2023. The two have previously collaborated together on tracks including “For Free,” “Greece,” “To The Max” and “I’m On One” (with Rick Ross and Lil Wayne).

Khaled previously said that he compares “Aalam of God” (named after his five-year-old son Aalam) to Jay-Z’s “The Black Album,” which was touted as the rapper’s retirement record in 2003; however, Khaled clarified in a statement: “This is not my last album, it’s my Black album. ‘Aalam of God’ translates to ‘the world of God’ in Arabic, essentially referring to the entire universe or the realm of existence considered as being under God’s dominion and control; ‘Aalam’ simply means ‘world’ or ‘universe’ in Arabic.”

“Aalam of God” was initially titled “Til Next Time,” (which Khaled also announced with a trailer in Aug. 2023).He later released “Supposed to Be Loved,” a single featuring Lil Baby, Future and Lil Uzi Vert that sampled Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing).”
