Dave Gross, a.k.a. BIG Dave was born and raised in Long Island, New York. He grew up with stacks of 45s, a turntable, microphone and a reel-to-reel tape recorder. Things haven’t been the same since! After a childhood making adventurous super 8 movies, playing drums, and acting (he played the lead role of Dracula in his senior play), Dave got his start at a college radio station, showcasing the San Francisco music sound. After college he moved way out west to the Bay Area creating voiceovers and comedy bits. He produced and hosted his own television show “Free Admission: The Rock & Roll Trivia Game Show.” During the 90s, Dave managed and produced artists including guitar great Harvey Mandel (Canned Heat, John Mayall, Rolling Stones), and later earned an RIAA-certified gold record for his work with the Grateful Dead on their box set, “So Many Roads (1965-1995).” He’s a voting member of the Recording Academy and a writing member of ASCAP and publishes a weekly music industry newsletter called Punmaster’s MusicWire. In 2002, he moved to Sonoma County and joined the Krush. His weekly radio show called Big Dave’s Rockabilly Roadhouse, is two big hours of high-octane roots music, heard weekly on the Krush. Guaranteed to kick start your weekend!
